Sherry D. Gibbs
Managing Director
Sherry Ellerbe Gibbs has over 16 years of management experience in strategy, marketing, sales and business development. Sherry has held executive and senior management positions at Harrah’s Entertainment, the New York Times, time magazine, Frito-Lay, and Mobil Oil. Her experience included new product launches; consumer, trade and internet promotions; media planning; advertising sales; strategic planning; and event management. With travel as a hobby, Sherry gets marketing inspiration and creative ideas from her worldwide sojourns. Sherry launched Be Creative as an additional outlet for her creativity, and to assist organizations be all they aspire to be.
An active member of her community, Sherry is a Girl Scouts leader; serves as a Jackson County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer; and is a marketing coach, providing marketing consulting to Kansas City-area minority-owned businesses through the Urban League of Greater Kansas City’s Entrepreneur Center Initiative program. With teaching as a passion, she has taught marketing classes at Medgar Evers College and the University of Missouri Kansas City. A native New Yorker, Sherry was also selected to participate in the “Principal for a day” program at various NYC public schools. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA in Marketing from Duke University.
